Overthinking isn’t just annoying—it’s exhausting. It keeps you up at night, fuels your anxiety, and makes everyday decisions feel like life-or-death choices. 


At Awakening Mountains, we offer mindfulness-based therapy for overthinking to teens and adults across New York and Vermont who are ready to feel less mentally flooded and more emotionally anchored. 

What Overthinking Can Look Like:

  • Replaying conversations over and over in your head 
  • Constantly planning for worst-case scenarios 
  • Struggling to make decisions without endless pros-and-cons lists 
  • Feeling emotionally flooded by even small interactions 
  • Lying awake at night running through your mental to-do list

Overthinking is often misunderstood—it’s not just being “too thoughtful.” It’s a nervous system stuck in high alert. 

Why Mindfulness-Based Therapy Helps

 You can’t always “logic your way out” of an anxious thought spiral. But you can learn to shift your relationship to your thoughts. 


In therapy, we’ll use mindfulness and self-compassion to:

  • Build awareness of when you're activated vs. grounded
